MISSION
THE FIRST GAWAD
The First Gawad Pamana ng Pluma International was established primarily to recognize excellence in literary and academic authorship. Its earliest categories focused on writers, authors, contributors, literary leaders, and individuals whose published works enriched Philippine literature and education. As the award matured, the organizing institutions recognized a fundamental reality: The advancement of society cannot be attributed to literature alone. Nation-building is shaped by the collective influence of writers, educators, academic leaders, language advocates, and public servants. This realization became the foundation for the strategic expansion of the Gawad during its Second Edition.

THE SECOND GAWAD
The Second Gawad Pamana ng Pluma International represents a significant institutional milestone. While maintaining its literary foundations, the award expanded its recognition framework to acknowledge excellence in educational leadership, language advocacy, academic governance, and public service. This expansion reflects the understanding that: Literature shapes ideas. Language preserves identity. Education develops human potential. Leadership transforms institutions. Governance improves communities. Together, these sectors contribute to sustainable national development. Through the leadership and participation of ASSET, the award introduced new categories that recognize outstanding contributions beyond traditional literary achievement. The expanded framework allows the Gawad to serve as a more inclusive platform for recognizing excellence across disciplines while remaining faithful to its founding ideals.
